The goals of security systems vary but always maintain a strong physical presence in and around the premises, deterring crime is essential and security evidence must be available to be accessed at a moment’s notice. In this manner, CCTV plays a huge role and in many cases can be used as the primary source of detection.
Whilst alarm detectors offer instant alerts when triggered, in some cases they can be exposed to tampering, or may simply be too close to the premises to act efficiently. CCTV can offer a much wider scope of detection, utilised on the perimeter of the property to pre-empt threats before they even reach the building. This type of detection not only allows further security systems to kick into life and take preventive actions but each step made by the intruder is recorded in HD video as evidence.
