Did you know CCTV can be used in drainage surveys?

A CCTV drainage surveys is a process for examining the condition of drainage systems without needing to dig everything up. The small, flexible camera system records video footage and capture useful data.

Across the drainage industry, this technology has become an essential tool for inspecting and surveying.

The same techniques and equipment can be deployed to carry out surveys of above ground pipes and industrial process pipes and storage tanks.

CCTV drainage surveys and water jetting

Often CCTV drainage surveys will be used alongside water jetting. Water jetting is a method of cleaning pipes using high-pressure water generally delivered by a vacuum tank.

Water jetting allows you to remove materials – silt, stones, fats, oils and grease that can build up over time. If this isn’t removed the CCTV camera may not be able to access the parts of the pipe that it needs to.
