What is UKAS?
UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the one national accreditation body for the UK. The accreditation service is a government recognised international standard for all businesses that provide certification, inspection and testing services.
UKAS accreditation demonstrates the competence and performance of these inspection organisations. As a non-profit-distributing private company, UKAS checks the performance of testing services.
Independent to the government, UKAS provide:
“Assurance of the competence, impartiality and integrity of conformity assessment bodies”.
