Pet-Friendly PIR Detectors
How They Work
Most pet friendly PIRs aren't as sensitive at the lower levels nearer the floor. They are generally more suitable for animals up to 35kgs, i.e. a large dog or a couple of cats. However, it is important to remember that cats will climb to higher levels; therefore the placement of your PIR will need to be considered very carefully. It is also recommended that you do not place PIRs facing an open staircase, as it will detect an animal climbing the stairs.
